Dear Friends,
God has called and equipped me to serve His Church by strengthening and revitalizing congregations across the Northeast. Over the past 18 years, He has led me to minister in local churches, including the Community Church of Great Neck, Edge City Church, and now Echo Grace Church, and to come alongside churches that are declining or at a standstill. In obedience to that calling, I have committed myself to the work of revitalization. In a region where many congregations face the threat of closure, the Lord has graciously given me the ability to recognize potential and identify pathways back to health, helping churches regain their footing during challenging seasons or, when wise, merge with other congregations so that their witness continues in their communities.
Here are some highlights from the churches I have supported in the past or am currently assisting during their transitional periods:
New York: Ascend Church (Dix Hills), Bethel Church (Staten Island), Calvary Church (Baldwin), Chinese Evangel Mission Church Queens (Queens), City Light Church (Queens), First Evangelical Free Church (Brooklyn), Grace Christian Church (Garden City), Hope Church Long Island (Lynbrook), Joy Church (Mastic), Ling Liang Church (Manhattan), People's Church (Long Beach), New Hope Church (Queens), New Vision Covenant Church (Great Neck), Reconciled Church (Queens), Renew City Church (Queens), Second Evangelical Free Church (Brooklyn)
New Jersey: Vroom St. Church (Jersey City)
Connecticut: Covenant Chapel (Hartford), Redeemer's Church (Bridgeport), Riverview Baptist Church (New Milford)
Massachusetts: Faith Church (Auburn)
Pennsylvania: Bridge Church (Bensalem), Grace Chapel (Havertown)
As God has brought me into this mission field, I have seen firsthand how much work remains and how complex these challenges can be. To be faithful and effective, I sensed the Lord leading me to strengthen my leadership for the sake of the churches I serve. In 2023, I applied to and was accepted into the Doctorate in Leadership and Innovation program at NYU. This rigorous program is sharpening my skills in organizational leadership, change management, and community development, tools I believe God is using to support churches across the Northeast more effectively and navigate the realities of modern ministry.
The cost of this program is significant, surpassing $100,000. Unlike many of my classmates, accomplished leaders in the public and private sectors whose employers sponsor their studies, my financial resources are limited as a full-time minister. I’m reaching out to ask for your partnership. Would you prayerfully consider supporting this work through a financial contribution, your prayers, or by sharing this need within your network? By investing in my preparation, you are investing in the future health and witness of countless churches across the Northeast.
Thank you for your invaluable support and for your commitment to God’s work; it makes a powerful difference.
With gratitude,
Binu Thomas
