YOUTH MINISTRY COURSE
Youth Ministry Foundation
Course Description:
I believe that the disciples might have been a lot younger than traditionally depicted, based on two biblical passages:
Exodus 30:14: Sets the age of accountability and responsibility at 20.
Matthew 17:24-27: Jesus and Peter pay the temple tax, implying only Jesus and Peter were over 20 because the others weren't singled out.
This younger age of the disciples aligns with some observed behaviors in the gospels, like the arguments about greatness, impulsiveness, and even racing to the tomb. It also explains Peter's leadership role as the older and more experienced disciple.
Regardless of whether Jesus' crew were a bunch of rowdy teenagers or seasoned adults or a mix of both, His methods for leading and discipling them offer timeless wisdom for anyone working with young people.
In this 4-week class you will learn the practical side of youth ministry:
Session I: Programming and Safety

Session II: Leadership and Leadership Development
